Flight Training at the United States Naval Academy (Paperback)
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 24.64 $Paperback. The United States Naval Academy was founded in 1845 in Annapolis, Maryland, after experience showed that the policy of training naval officers solely through shipboard experience was ineffective. The development of aircraft in the early 20th century was a technological change that impacted the academy. The efforts of naval aviation advocates, led by Capt. Washington I. Chambers, resulted in the Navy acquiring its first aircraft in 1911 and basing them near the US Naval Academy where sufficient land and material resources were available to support flight operations. Later, under Supt. Adm. Louis W. Nulton, aviation entered the curriculum as an element of fundamental naval education, taking a place among major subjects such as seamanship and gunnery. Classroom instruction and indoctrination flights provided all midshipmen with a familiarization in aviation as an important element in their development as naval officers before circumstances forced a shift of training to other facilities by 1962. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

737NG Training Syllabus Volume 8 Flight Simulator Training
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 6.67 $Learning to fly the 737NG like a real pilot is a challenging and exciting adventure awaiting computer-pilots. Written for the beginner as well as the veteran simmer, the profusely illustrated material is crammed with details, diagrams, explanations and useful information. The material starts slowly but builds to a crescendo. It includes a section for the "knows nothing" Ab-initio wannabe pilot and builds to provide information and operational procedures that will provide interesting and useful insight to even the professional airline pilot community. This beautiful and unique document provides the access toolset to the knowledge base that will allow the ordinary garden variety flight sim addict to cross the bridge between operating the current state of the art home based PC flight simulation programs and the real airline style simulator. This book is a MUST HAVE item for the 737NG computer pilot who wants to fly the incredibly accurate add-on airplanes as if they were real pilots. This paperback Black and White version of Captain Mike Ray's book on training to fly the 737NG is a great bargain. Flight Theory for Pilots, Fourth Edition (Jeppesen-Sanderson Training Products)
Vendor: Abebooks.com Price: 27.49 $Flight Theory for Pilots is written for pilots by a pilot, this book allows you to expand your knowledge of flight theory and aerodynamics as applied to airplanes and helicopters. This is the principle aerodynamics book used in USAF courses. From the Preface: This book is written for the typical pilot who has no engineering background and no desire to become involved with mathematical solutions, but would still like to expand his knowledge of flight theory. From 21 years of teaching this subject to the US Air force, Army, and Navy, I would estimate that this would include 75% of students. This book does not attempt to transfer pilots into engineers. What it does try to explain are the basics of aerodynamics as they apply to flying an airplane. In some cases formulas are presented, but a real insight to the subject can be obtained even if they are completely ignored.
